WUHAN: Saudi Arabia has signed six contracts to provide medical assistance to China as it attempts to combat the outbreak of coronavirus.
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSRelief) is overseeing the provision of assistance. A new batch of aid was sent to Wuhan, the epicenter of the viral outbreak, in China. It included 60 ultrasound machines, 20 noninvasive ventilators, 89 defibrillators, 277 monitors, 200 infusion pumps, 500 injection pumps and 3 dialysis devices.
The aid package has been dispatched on the orders of King Salman.
Saudi Arabia has been ranked a global fifth, and first in the Arab world, for its provision of humanitarian aid. Since its inception in 2015, the KSRelief has implemented 1,201 projects in 47 countries at a total cost of $4.3 billion.
The Kingdom provides support to crisis-affected groups to ensure that all people in the world have the opportunity to lead decent, dignified lives.
