Bartley says possibility of early general election means next leader needs time to bed in
The Green party co-leader Jonathan Bartley has announced he is resigning and will make way for a successor owing to the possibility of an earlier-than-expected general election.
Bartley, a south London councillor who is the longest-serving Greens leader, will stand aside at the end of July, and the other co-leader, Siân Berry, will remain in place until the race to replace them concludes.
